Newcastle co-ops
A rainy day in Newcastle led to some darker pictures.
The first is the former CWS Quayside warehouse on the tyne, now Malmaison hotel.
The second picture is the former Newcastle Society Central Premises, Newgate street, in typical 1930s art deco style with ashlar facing. There's also a brick bit round the corner built in 1906
The third picture is the CWS badge with Labor and Wait
motto behind the Newgate Street store and the fourth picture is the CWS Newcastle branch HQ now a museum of Newcastle and its science, engineering and society.
The fifth picture shows the former CWS drapery warehouse in Newcastle
